Follow the patterns. Follow the flight.
Follow to where the others went,
where the flowers are known,
and no surprises lie.
But I – I fly on daydream wings,
to fields my fellows did not try,
to sip exotic nectars under bright blue skies.
And should misfortune meet their flight,
should their flowers fail to thrive,
I’ll share my fortune with them too,
and again seek delight
in the revelations I have yet to find.

graciously offered to the Toads participating in this week's challenge.
This poem was inspired by the prompt given over Imaginary Gardens With Real Toads, Which Bee?
Such an adventurous little bee with a generous heart! We should all follow her example!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon <3
DeleteA solitary flier with a heart made of honey and gold. I love that she's ready to share her secret treasures... if she had to. ✨πΈππΈ✨
ReplyDelete*has to*
DeleteThanks Magaly. It was a fun prompt to play with.
DeleteThis time around, I find myself delighting on the magic that sparkles out of the first line of the third stanza. Stunning image!
DeleteOooooo, daydream wings!
ReplyDeleteI loved the way it sounded in my head. I'm glad it translated well to printed word.
DeleteYour bee knows no boundaries - how wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI think so as well. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteLuv your leaning to share goodness
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping in to read mine
A blessed Sunday to you
Much love...
Hope your day was good as well <3
DeleteIt's the seekers that share that change the word... what a wonderful bee... love it.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for the seekers that share <3
DeleteYou have made me think, what if no other bees followed that leader? I'm glad that your 'loner' be was willing to share.
ReplyDelete..
It's always nice when people share.
DeleteThe ways of a loner. Thank you for this
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it
DeleteLooooooooooove!
ReplyDelete:) Thanks Laura
Delete"I fly on daydream wings.." well, that is golden of course--but the poem also excels in conveying a social sense of caring, of connection that seems very beelike and genuine. I like it very much, Rommy.
ReplyDeleteI figured part of the bee's intrinsic nature was to at least keep community in mind, even if she liked flying solo.
DeleteBeautiful!!! "But I – I fly on daydream wings", really loved this piece Rommy!!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy you do :)
DeleteAh the flight less taken...Those daydream wings have endless destinations.
ReplyDeleteThey absolutely do!
DeleteFlying solo, come what may ... I prefer too.
ReplyDeleteIt can be peaceful to fly on one's own.
DeleteWhistles!!❤️π This is absolutely exquisitely penned, Rommy! I just adore this; "I fly on daydream wings, to fields my fellows did not try, to sip exotic nectars under bright blue skies." Sigh.. beautifully penned! Thank you so much for participating at Prompt Nights and for your constant love and support❤️π
ReplyDeleteLots of love,
Sanaa
PS: You rock!!π
Aw, thanks! <3
DeleteThis is so lovely... magical... and good advise
ReplyDeleteI think that bee has a lots to share, including good advice.
DeleteA second reading. This time I zeroed in on the joy of adventure in your poem
ReplyDeleteMuch love...
Yes, there is certainly an adventurous spirit to this piece.
DeleteBees are so adventurous, trying any source to tap the nectar much like me when I was a teenager!
ReplyDeleteThe teenage years can be fun like that!
DeleteTo be brave enough to follow our own path, and charitable enough to share, what could be better? I enjoyed your bee's flight. I loved the video - it was amazing :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the sense of joy and adventure this conveys - sometimes we must take our own flight paths.. hopefully it gives us something sweet to share with others
