A Drop of Jasmine

I only need a drop of jasmine to weave into the corkscrew vines of my garden. It is already dew-kissed knowing you will slip in just as night begins to lap up the sky as it explodes into stars.

My tongue led along
constellations of freckles
reaches towards your bliss.

Song Choice: Love Reign O'er Me by The Who

This poem was created for the prompt given at Imaginary Gardens With Real Toads: Fireblossom Fridays Poetic Imagery. It is also linked to the Friday 55 at Verse Escape and Poets United Poetry Pantry #397.

  5. So sensual, especially:
'knowing you will slip in just as night begins to lap up the sky'
    and
    'My tongue led along
    constellations of freckles
    reaches towards your bliss'.

  10. I had to read this slice of delight many, many, many times... before the eternal-teenager in charge of digesting sexually charged imagery could stop giggling and pointing long enough to allow the poetry lover to bask in the heat and grace of each line. Goodness gracious, this is... poetry that knows flesh and loves what it knows.

  11. This is as sensuous and sweet as the smell of jasmine--tho knowing you, I thought first of jasmine tea--and it has an innocence under the heat that goes well with such a shy, pure white flower. (AFA the word count--we don't quibble about things like titles being off limits--many's the time I've done the same thing.)Thanks so much for playing and helping this weekend kick ass for all of us.

    1. I admit it...I had a cup of jasmine pearl tea on hand while creating it. The "pearl" part took my mind in a certain direction, and you have the results before you.
