Blue Sky Dreams

All my blue sky dreams
surviving despite the rain
startle me. To think
I almost let them wither
fearing an endless winter.

Liner Notes for This Groove: This song is linked to Poets and Storytellers United's Friday Writings prompt. LOL, I did not in fact follow my own prompt (this song is one of my favorites), but I did feel like celebrating hitting a milestone for a work in progress I had to be goaded into starting. Thank you Magaly, for kicking my butt to the 40,000 word mark. ðŸ˜œ

  1. It's so good to have a friend who will act as a 'committed listener' and keep you up to the mark.

  3. There's incredible energy and joy in the song. It is, indeed, a mix of relief and surprise when dreams survive the bleak in life.

  4. Nice tanka, we have a hard time trying to out guess the weather. Meteorologists even miss some days.

Alas, I am afraid that the short story (short story!) I am trying to complete is approaching an endless winter. :)

    1. Thanks dsnake. I'm sorry that your short story has hit a road block. Hopefully it will figure itself out or you'll find a new project to catch your fancy.

  6. It's such a beautiful verse. Glad you still have a fistful of sky of your own. Winters come and go.
