Pleasantly Lazy

The pleasantly lazy feeling
of stretching wide
over not quite so crisp sheets

and feeling the sun
gently tugging on my eyelashes,
completely unbothered
by thoughts
of what comes next.

  3. You got it, Lady. The nice warm sun and sunshine coming in from the window do a lot for one just waking up. Now, sitting in a chair and the sunshine moves around for your turn, not so good. We'll get up and move the chair back in the shaded area.
Thanks for hosting. I'm off to find, on my blog, my recipe for "Jim's Quick and Easy Stuffed Peppers."

  4. Well Ms. Rommy ... this must be the perfect description of 'awakening.' I love and can feel every word. Big stretch now.

  7. You share that one with Jean Kerr...

"Dearer to me than the evening star,
A Packard car, a Hershey bar,
Or a bride in her rich adorning,
Dearer than any of these by far
Is to lie in bed in the morning."

(I share it too--why else would I have memorized that poem? In grade three, yet.)

  8. I envy this scene. So serene and relaxing. We do need sedentary pace in life to enjoy every moment

  11. Nothing beats a good morning stretch! The luxuriously lazy feeling seems well earned.

  12. I thought I commented, second guessing myself but I have to say nothing feels better than a luxusiously lazy morning stretch!
