Indigo sky witnesses

the scarlet gift
I bestowed upon your cheek.

It is only a trinket
expressing my pleasure in this dance.
My real tribute to your skill will come later.

Liner Notes for This Groove: This cherita was created for the Weekend Mini-Challenge at Imaginary Gardens with Real Toads. Magaly asked us to go back and pick two prompts to combine into a short poetry bit (senryu, cherita, or elfchen). I chose Bits of Inspiration ~ You Write the Color and Just One Word: Trinket.

    1. There is a time to be careful and a time to just go for it. 😃

  2. I'm there, with Debra. I grinned and squealed and fanned myself when I finished reading. What a delightful promise, especially after the darks and reds and twists that get the story there. Yum!

    1. It's been awhile since I dropped a bit of naughtiness on the blog, so I jumped at the chance to do it, especially when I saw that photo.

  11. Love it! This is my second cherita today - by way of introduction to the form - and both of them are really special … awesome, even. I like the form a lot and can see myself giving-it-a-go, at some point. The prompt you've responded to here, is very cool (the prompts people come up with - in and of themselves - I often find, are so fascinating) and you definitely did right by it.

  12. We often forget people are often two characters and what we see may not always be the person inside. The fact that she is talking to him means she knows him already and enjoys his company and all things are possible.

  13. Your cherita is a marvellous match, Rommy! An appetizer indeed! I love the use of passionate colours and the hint of what is to come.
