uncanny heart
is a lair
for numerous bloody unusual
tales.
Song Choice: Spellbound by Siouxsie and the Banshees
Liner Notes for this Groove: This poem was created for the Weekly Scribblings prompt at Poets and Storytellers United - Unusual, Uncommon, Uncanny.
Also, on the advice of cleverer poets, a last minute word swap was made which makes it much better IMHO... "several" for "numerous".
Oh, I just bet it is, LOL! And I love the photo you chose for this post!
ReplyDeleteI adored that picture the moment I saw it.
DeleteI love the idea of your heart being a lair! But I imagine it must harbour numerous rather than merely several such tales?
ReplyDeleteI second this notion!
DeleteLOL, you know what... I'm fixing it now! :D
DeleteGood one yes hearts have their own agenda
ReplyDeleteTure enough
DeleteHow important it is to be ourselves and not be copycats all the time.
ReplyDeleteBeing a copycat sounds terribly exhausting
DeleteNice one Rommy
ReplyDeleteMuch🌷love
Thanks Gillena
DeleteI completely agree. Which might be why reading this elfchen makes me want to reread "What's a Little Blood to a Mother's Heart". So, I will.
ReplyDeleteHa! I am delighted if reading my work inspires people to read more of it. :D
DeleteI hope your lair has room for some happy thoughts!!
ReplyDeletePlenty of room!
DeleteAnd you know, some readers think this is actually you if you write in first tense.
ReplyDelete..
I'm OK with people bringing their own interpretations of what things might mean.
DeleteBe you! Love this Rommy! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteHeehee! We know it! Love your uncanny tales!
ReplyDeleteLOL, Yay! I am glad it is known
Delete"Numerous" works. There are many more than "several" within you. Somehow I know this. ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL, sometimes it takes time for better words to float into my brain. :D
DeleteSuch richness and truth here, dear Rommy...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Scott
DeleteDelightfully unusual!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I often delight in the unusual.
DeleteMY POST TODAY
ReplyDeleteWishing you a Happy Sunday.
Much💛love
Happy Monday
Delete'Numerous' is much more effective, I think. Excellent work, as usual.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely agreed on the word choice. Thanks!
DeleteThe first time I read it, it was tales of blood, "bloody tales," the second time it was that the tales are "bloody unusual." Then, a lair would be full of either, so thank you for waking me up to ponder on it!
ReplyDeleteI love when I can make little lines hold twice their weigh in meanings. :)
DeleteLove it... So like "uncanny heart".
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susie
DeleteMarvelous ... BLOODY well done!!!
ReplyDeleteHee-hee... thanks, Helen
DeleteOne can only imagine the tale that correlates to that photo!
