So that’s what the inside of my brain looks like
A multiverse indeed
It’s one thing
To idly tell yourself tales
To pass the time
It’s quite another
To uproot them
From where they were
In the Wonderland they resided
Where they half made sense
To paper and pixel
Where you blink at them
Do I even know you?
Word doodles dissected
Splayed out
Strange oddities that took root
On the inside of my brain
But some of these show a bit of promise
And you rearrange the guts
Prune
Trim
Give them some sun
And when they’re ready
Set them out into the world
And go back inside your brain
To see what’s rooted this time

Squeeee...love this! "Word doodle" dissecting sounds great fun, if a lot messy :D XXX
ReplyDeleteThings can get more splattered than a Jackson Pollock painting :D
DeleteLoved it, keeps you engaged at every turn or bend in the path.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Delete"And you rearrange the guts, prune, trim, give them some sun." Yep. That's exactly it. It really is like taking a plant (or something) that you grew in your brain and fixing it up for display and consumption by others. Then you go back and grow some more stuff to share. Nice. :-)
ReplyDeletePart plant, part Frankenstein's monster :D
DeleteLove that description!
DeleteThanks!
DeleteOh, Rommy! I loved this look inside your head! It was like a Steampunk Garden with little delights popping in and out to surprise and astound us! Yay!
ReplyDeleteI actually hadn't seen the Steampunk aspect to it until you mentioned it - but that's kind of cool!
DeleteYou are a world-gardener! I love, love, love this!! And your story blooms!!! *you can tell by the amount of exclamation points I used*
ReplyDeleteThose are an enthusiastic crowd of exclamation points :D
DeleteI love the wobbly word phrasing and the garden imagery. This is both cute and clever. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteHey if I can hit both cute and clever, I feel pretty good. Thanks Ben!
