Pavement

You see
the sharp delineation
of the narrow path
we are expected to take.

I see
the barrier
that crumbles

from the force of will
of a dandelion
demanding its place in the sun.

  4. As a child I always thought dandelions were lovely. Only when I had a garden of my own did I see the bully taking over as much garden as possible!

    1. LOL, things were simpler when we were kids. But I still don't mind dandelions all that much.

  6. A brilliant analogy. There are times of sorrow in life that leave us feeling as if we're dandelions attempting to push through to the sunlight. Fortunately, the human spirit is resilient, as is the dandelion!!

  12. The sheer force of will of the dandelion. They thrive when other flowers wither.
We dandelions need our place in the sun

  14. There are those just like that dandelion, who will force their way through with tough spirit, and find their place in the sun. Unfortunately, there will also be crumbling, and not all of it good.
all we can do is hope, and try.

    1. We can hope that what is good will be preserved and also that what needs to fall away does so with as minimal collateral damage as possible, so all can grow freely under the sun.

  17. Hurrah for dandelion! I love the way the concrete begins to bloom just before the summer sets in.

  18. There is a very high possibility that I just roared into my screen, "I see crumbling too!" I love this so much. It's always great to be reminded of the beauty that happens when we refuse to be buried while we are still alive.
