Everyday

Everyday
there’s a new blue sky
waiting for me
to disturb all the earth
thrown upon me
the day before,
and see if I’ll come dancing.

Everyday
there's a new spark,
either hiding in the curl of a leaf
or out in plain sight
in the curve of my love's smile
strong enough
to remind my heart what it's there for.

And all is made new again.

  4. R, you are a strong optimist. I take my new days for granted, not many I even think about getting excited. I have one day scheduled to be an event of my life for 2022, if I live that long. It involves travel, last item of about a hundred still on my bucket list.
    Missed you for Sunday Muse?

    1. Last week was a weird one for me. Since the crisis is pretty much passed, I can be open with it. My mom was diagnosed with Covid. She is much better now, beginning to be able to smell the salmon my dad likes to cook for himself, and really bored being stuck in her room.

  12. Love-infused smiles have superpowers, don't they?

I really love the hope that feeds this poem, the reminder that we can fall in love again and again and again... with the same heart, with the same lips.
